Bilinguals Inc. / Achieve Beyond is an Early Intervention agency in Midtown Manhattan serving children with developmental delays. We are currently seeking a dynamic individual to take on the role of Service Coordinator. This is an important position where you will learn diverse skills and have the ability to grow and advance. As a Service Coordinator, you will have the opportunity to work with parents and families of infants and toddlers with developmental delays. A key skill for this position is having solid interpersonal skills. This individual will be building relationships with other agencies and Early Intervention Office Designees. Most importantly, this individual will coordinate Early Intervention services to meet the family’s and the child’s needs. You will have the chance to work in a fast paced company where your input will be expected and appreciated.
Responsibilities include:
- Guide families through and help them understand the Early Intervention process
- Conduct home visits to families on your workload
- Coordinate Early Intervention evaluations and services for the child based on family’s and providers’ availability.
- Develop plans and strategies to meet the family’s needs.
- Participate in the development, implementation, and monitoring of the Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP).
- Ensure that approved services are provided in a timely manner and as mandated by the Early Intervention Office Designee at the time of the IFSP meeting.
- Maintain regular contact with families.
- Monitor services and maintain quarterly progress reports and semi-annual IFSP reviews or amendments.
- Collaborate with our own case management department and outside provider agencies to secure needed services for families.
- Act as a liaison between therapists and family and EI providers, whenever necessary.
- Maintain proper documentation of all contact made with families and Early Intervention providers as well as any information pertinent to a child’s case
- Constant update of information on the Child Database
- Auditing a child’s case file and documentation of each file to ensure that they meet the standards of Early Intervention Quality Assurance.
Requirements:
- Dual language required: English and any of the following
- French Creole
- Cantonese
- Mandarin
- Urdu/Bengali
- Arabic
- Spanish
- Russian
- Bachelor’s degrees in Psychology, Sociology, Child and family studies or any major in Social Sciences or a minimum of 2 years Early Intervention experience
- Solid interpersonal communication - verbal and written - skills are required.
- Ability to multitask
- Take initiative and be a decision maker
- Strong analytical skills
- Strong typing skills and knowledge of MS Excel, Word and customized databases
- Successful experience working in a high volume work environment where organizational and multi-tasking skills are essential.
This position will start with a salary and will transition to 50% Salary and 50% per unit. Benefits will be offered. There is great earning potential.
